SKF have launched a new, unique handheld instrument for detecting electrical discharges in electric motor bearings - SKF TKED 1 Electric Discharge Detector Pen.

Electrical discharges are a result of motor shaft voltages discharging to earth through the bearings, causing electrical erosion, lubricant degradation and ultimately - premature bearing failure.
