SKF have launched a new, unique handheld instrument for detecting electrical discharges in electric motor bearings - SKF TKED 1 Electric Discharge Detector Pen.

Electrical discharges are a result of motor shaft voltages discharging to earth through the bearings, causing electrical erosion, lubricant degradation and ultimately - premature bearing failure. Proper lubrication is critical to bearing and machine performance. To help prevent premature failures Timken have introduced the C-Power multi-point lubricators that deliver grease to up to six lubrication points. The lubricators are programmable to deliver consistent lubrication from 1-24 months with no pressure loss with distances up to 16ft.
