Timken Deep Groove Ball Bearings

Timken deep groove ball bearings are available in a variety of sizes and are the most popular of the roller bearing range. This type of bearing supports radial load and a small degree of axial load in both directions simultaneously. Timken deep groove ball bearings are popular due to their versatility, affordability and capability to run at high speeds.

Antifriction offer Timken deep groove ball bearings in a wide range of sizes and configurations. Size range from 3mm - 160mm bore and maximum outside diameter of 250mm. Timken continues to expand the offering of deep groove ball bearings with larger sizes to be introduced.

Timken Deep Groove Ball Bearing Types

There are several series of deep groove ball bearings that have been standardized by bearing manufacturers. The boundary dimensions for standard metric bearings are contained in the general plans as specified in ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standard 15:2011 for radial rolling bearings.

The Timken offering includes standard, thin section, narrow, wide, extra small and miniature constructions. Those are offered in several variations including the following:

Open basic design

With shields

With contact seals

With non-contact seals

With a snap ring on the outer ring O.D.

Ball Bearing Cages

Cages (also referred to as retainers) make a vital contribution to overall bearing performance. They maintain uniform ball spacing in the bearing as the balls pass into and out of the load zone.
Cages can impact several bearing operational characteristics such as:

Maximum rotational speed

Torque characteristics

Temperature limits

Lubricant flow

There are a number of different cage types that are commonly used in deep groove ball bearings, the most popular being the riveted steel cage. Please contact us should you require further details of the most common ball bearing cage types.

Timken Spherical Roller Bearings

Timken bearings offer increased performance and uptime, longer life and lower operating costs. Industry best design practices led to the development of optimized internal geometries and surface finishes, and improved cage and roller piloting design - resulting in bearings that run cooler, faster, and longer than the competition. With a significant investment in technology and infrastructure, Timken engineering and manufacturing processes adhere to stringent standards, ensuring globally consistent quality.

Misalignment, contamination and high temperatures even extreme speeds or critical stresses can present extra challenges when managing high radial loads. Timken spherical roller bearings can handle it all, with innovations designed to extend bearing life and boost reliability.

These bearings run at consistently lower temperatures than same size competitive bearings for greater reliability.

There are multiple cage designs, including a wide range of both steel and brass options which helps reduce stress at high shock loads or speeds and provide strong contaminant purge.

Optimized internal geometries deliver the highest load and speed ratings in the industry.

Timken Tapered Roller Bearings

Tapered roller bearings are uniquely designed to manage both thrust and radial loads on rotating shafts and in housings. Timken manufacture nearly 26,000 tapered roller bearing combinations in single, double and four-row tapered roller bearing configurations. Customised geometries and engineered surfaces can be applied to these tapered roller bearings to further enhance performance in demanding applications.

Tapered roller bearings consist of four interdependent components: the cone, or inner ring; the cup, or outer ring; the tapered rollers, or rolling elements; and the cage, or roller retainer. The taper angles allow the bearing to handle a combination of radial and thrust loads. The steeper the cup angle, the greater the ability of the tapered roller bearing to handle thrust loads.
