All SKF spherical roller bearings, CARB toroidal bearings and most spherical roller thrust bearings now carry the industry leading SKF Explorer performance class designation. In addition to that, all SKF self-aligning roller bearings have been upgraded to a new level of performance with SKF next-generation bearing steel.SKF next generation bearing steel used for all SKF Explorer self-aligning bearings has a superior balance between hardness and toughness to significantly improve wear resistance.Improved wear resistance means that these SKF Explorer bearings will run longer - particularly under difficult operating conditions. 

In backstop (holdback) applications, the clutches are used to prevent reverse rotation of drive shafts and – consequently - damage to machinery and other expensive equipment. With the outer race of the clutch anchored to a stationary member, the inner race can overrun freely in one direction of rotation even at high speed. Reverse rotation is instantaneously prevented by the automatic engagement of the clutch

Tsubaki’s new BR-HT (high torque) series of backstop cam clutches are designed to provide higher-torque (up to 366,000Nm) backstop functions and high speed (3,600rpm) overrunning. Ideal for OEM applications, the clutches integrate a special design of lift-off cams that provide mechanical engagement only when needed, and optimised speed overrunning with no contact between cams and races. 

Timken have announced an extension to their bearing range to expand their Machine Tool portfolio. Encompassing Precision Cylindrical Rollers in P4 precision class. The new TARN/TARF series are direct equivalents to INA's ZARN/ZARF, used on ball screw drives. The YRC series (eqvuivalent to INA YRT) is used in indexing tables, rotary tables and milling heads. AFC will now be able to offer our UK customers access to expanded stocks at competitive prices and technical support from Timken in these critical applications.

There are now four versions of Tsubaki's well proven BS/DIN European Standard Chain for use in corrosive environments. Each version is designed to outlast standard chains and provide cost effective operating solutions across the widest range of environments, including low temperature, sanitary, outdoor, wet and humid atmospheres. With lower operating noise and lube free options, there is a chain type in this range that will be ideal for most challenging applications.

Not all seals are the same, seals that look very similar can offer extremely different performance levels. SKF have launched a new range of industrial shaft seals that will maximise bearing performance in all industrial areas, they are available in shaft sizes from 6 to 250mm. The new seals incorporate a number of features that will enable improved sealing performance, longer service life and excellent oil compatibility. All SKF Seals are individually packed and branded "SKF" so you can be sure of the quality.
